Sowore said, “I call on all of the world’s Nigerians not to lose sight of the fight. I urge them to keep demanding a better country.

Sahara Reporters ‘ pro-democracy campaigner and publisher, Omoyele Sowore, has called on Nigerians worldwide not to lose sight of the fight, but to continue to demand a better nation.

Sowore called on Friday from the headquarters of the State Services Department in Abuja where he is currently being held after his arrest in the early hours of 3 August 2019 in Lagos to call on Nigerians to take to the streets in peaceful demonstrations in order to demand better leadership in the country.

Sowore said, “I call on all of the world’s Nigerians not to lose sight of the fight. I urge them to keep demanding a better country.

“They must continue to fight for their oppressors ‘ liberty in a fight for the country’s soul.

“Nigerians must stand up against this affront to democracy and build a nation that can promote their ambitions.” Federal High Court Justice Taiwo Taiwo in Abuja directed the DSS to release Sowore on bail previously on Tuesday.

But despite fulfilling his bail condition and several attempts by the tribunal and his attorneys to get the agency to obey that order, the government has yet to release Sowore, drawing condemnation from all over the world.
