A former Ovation Magazine presidential candidate and publisher, Dele Momodu, responded to the romor making the rounds that President Muhammadu Buhari was scheduled to marry a second wife on Friday (today).
The news emerged from Aso Rock that Buhari would marry Sadia Umar Farouq, the new Minister of Disaster Management for Humanitarian Affairs on Friday, in a very quiet ceremony.
It reflects the continuing absence of the former First Lady, Aisha from the Presidential Villa after her trips to Saudi Arabia and UK.
Ms Farouk is a very close friend of Buhari and the Villa cabals love her, according to a source who spoke on the condition of anonymity. But reacting to the statement, Momodu said that Buhari and Farouk would not have such a wedding.
He tweeted, “I have been inundated with calls, and social media is awash, about the news of the President’s impending wedding fatiha tomorrow; let me disappoint the rumour-mongers that nothing of the sort is happening tomorrow, according to my own impeccable sources… Fingers crossed…”
