JUST IN – Messi wins 3rd straight Golden Shoe as top league-goal scorer

Since scoring 36 goals, Messi won the trophy for a third straight year, three more than his closest challenger, Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappe.

The sons of Messi, Thiago and Mateo, presented their father with the award supervised by his mother, Antonella Rocuzzo, and watched by teammates including Luis Suarez and Jordi Alba.

Speaking after the award, he said to my parents, my colleagues who are here,”[ I dedicate this award]. There are Luis and Jordi to blame for this recognition, who are two of the guys.

“Without my team, I could not even have won the award once.”

Messi now has two more Golden Shoes than Cristiano Ronaldo, his great rival. Luis Suarez is one of the nine teams. The award was established in 1967, according to AFP, when it was won by Eusebio.
