JUST IN – Ondo Assembly dissolves caretakers committees in local councils

The ondo state house of assembly has dissolved caretaker committees across the state in local government areas.

The decision was taken by the Assembly during a plenary session on Friday.

Commenting on the issue, a lawmaker who asked not to be named said, “Desolution is taking effect immediately and we all agreed not to prolong their tenure again.

“Even the tenure elongation sent to us does not have a list of supervisory councilors working with the caretaker committees.” And we asked them to turn over all government property in their possession to the LG administration.

Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, despite repeated promises to do so, has refused to hold local government elections in the state.

This is despite the enormous amount that the Independent Electoral Commission of Ondo State budgets annually for conducting elections.
