2023 WAEC Results Unveiled

The outcomes of the 2023 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) have been made public by the West African Examination Council (WAEC).

The examination authority officially disclosed the results on Monday.

Patrick Areghan, the Head of Nigeria’s WAEC Office, revealed that out of the total of 1,613,733 examinees who participated in the test, the scores of 262,803 individuals are currently withheld due to reported instances of exam irregularities.

He noted an improvement in the success rate, with 1,361,608 candidates, constituting 84.38 percent, achieving credit grades or higher in a minimum of five subjects, regardless of having English Language or Mathematics among them.

Furthermore, 1,287,920 candidates, representing 79.81 percent of the overall participants, secured credits and beyond in a minimum of five subjects, including both English Language and Mathematics.
