On Thursday, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu extended warm words to Nyesom Wike, the former governor of Rivers State, during a reception for a high-powered delegation of 62 members from Rivers State at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. In his address to the stakeholders from Rivers State, Tinubu acknowledged their concerns about infrastructure development, particularly the deteriorating condition of the Elementary junction-Onne axis of the East West Road, which connects to the Port Harcourt Refinery.

In a statement released by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Chief Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu expressed his perspective on Wike’s role, stating, “The Honourable Minister, Wike, holds not only the position of FCT Minister but also serves as my advisor and holds admiration for my work. He has demonstrated a swift and dedicated approach, and I urge the state to support his efforts.”

Furthermore, President Tinubu offered advice to the younger generation, encouraging patience with the government’s processes. He asserted his role as the country’s leader and chief advocate, emphasizing the need to reverse negative trends and attain remarkable achievements within a short timeframe. Concluding his remarks, the President pledged his commitment and prayed for divine guidance to meet the high expectations of the Nigerian people, assuring them that he would not let them down.
