Former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, contends that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has accomplished in just 100 days what the Muhammadu Buhari administration struggled with for several years.

During the tenure of former President Buhari, Nigeria had a diplomatic dispute with the United Arab Emirates (UAE), leading to the imposition of a visa ban on Nigerians and the suspension of flights to Nigeria. This situation persisted since October 2022.

However, as previously reported by our correspondent, the presidency announced on Monday that President Tinubu, in conjunction with UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, concluded a historic agreement in Abu Dhabi. This agreement promptly resulted in the lifting of the visa ban imposed on Nigerian travelers.

Fani-Kayode, formerly associated with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and now a member of the All-Progressives Congress (APC), noted that the current administration achieved in a matter of days what the previous government could not attain over several years.

In recent days, our President has repositioned Nigeria on the international stage, rightfully restoring its prominence,” Fani-Kayode commented. “After a successful participation in the G20 summit in India, which attracted substantial investments to our nation and where he asserted that world leaders cannot ignore Nigeria, he visited the UAE. There, he not only ensured the lifting of the visa ban on Nigerians but also resolved issues related to Emirati funds held at the Central Bank and air travel routes between the two countries. These accomplishments were achieved within a few days.”

“These are achievements that the previous administration struggled to secure during years of prolonged and often contentious negotiations,” he added.

Fani-Kayode expressed his genuine pride in the President’s actions, asserting that under his leadership, Nigeria is unmistakably experiencing a resurgence.

“President Tinubu has not only restored our confidence and optimism but has also demonstrated to the world that Great Nigeria, the Giant of Africa, is revitalized and thriving once more. All glory to God,” he concluded.
