The late singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as MohBad, had reportedly promised his mother a sum of N5 million for her business on the day he passed away, according to his mother.
During an interview with TVC News, she revealed, “I typically refrained from disclosing that I was MohBad’s mother because he feared I might be at risk of kidnapping. He provided me with a new house where I’ve lived for just five months, and he visited me on three occasions before his passing. He relocated me from my previous residence to Ikorodu in Lagos, expressing his desire to visit me regularly.”
“He had recently secured a rental space comprising three shops for me, although I haven’t relocated there yet. He also provided me with funds to purchase two large freezers and a substantial generator. On the day of his passing, he assured me of sending N5 million to support me in stocking up the shop with merchandise.”
She also shared that her late son lived in constant fear and didn’t have the chance to truly enjoy his life before his untimely passing. She expressed her own fear and reluctance to return to Ikorodu. In her concern, she mentioned, “I reached out to someone to rent out the new shop to another person and give me the proceeds. My son’s life was marked by fear, and he couldn’t fully savor his moments.”
“Whenever I paid him a visit, I’d often find him shaking his head. I had hoped that the problems and attacks had subsided, but after he was assaulted once more following the release of his Extended Play album, I was astonished to realize that those individuals hadn’t ceased tormenting him. He consistently sought help at the police station, as I personally witnessed on two occasions.”
